Day 8: Snow Globes Make Christmas Last Year-round! |
When Santa was a child (hard to imagine, isn't it?) he loved to play with his mother's snow globe collection. Santa loved to shake them upside down and set them on a table so he could watch the snow come down in the little scenes. One day, Mother Claus decided to show Santa how he could make his own snowglobes. Santa had so much fun making little scenes and turning them into snow globes that soon Mother Claus didn't have a single empty jar in the house! You can make your own snowglobes too by following the simple directions below. It's best to have an adult help glue them together. Have fun! |

Snow Scene GlobesHere's what you'll need:Baby food jars (or other small jars) with lids Silver glitter Super glue or a hot glue gun Small plastic animals or figures for a scene Water or oil Ribbon (optional) Directions: 1. Wash and dry the jars. 2. Using super glue or a glue gun (get you parent's help with this), glue the small plastic figurines inside the lid of the baby food jar. Let this dry throughly. 3. Fill the jar with water. Sprinkle in some silver glitter. Note: You may want to use a clear oil instead of water if you want the snow to fall slower. 4. Carefully screw on the lid with the figures glued to it. Make sure it is really tight. 5. Shake your jar and watch the snow fall. 6. You may want to tie or glue a ribbon around the lid for decoration. Back to Santa's Workshop |
