How a newspaper works

Newspapers play an important role in our society. They tell us what is going on in our communities or what has already happened, like a fire, important governmental meeting, a crime incident or even the arrival of a princess! Newspapers also distribute lots of information to the public, like when important meetings are coming up, births in the community and election results. Without newspapers, and other forms of media like radio and television, the public would have to rely on other less timely and accurate forms of communication -- like word-of-mouth!

But how do newspapers gather and organize all that information each day?
