Editorials

The editorial page is a special section of the newspaper that allows opinion to be expressed. Columns written by local editors and syndicated writers allow readers to consider informed opinions on important topics. Readers may not agree with those opinions, but can gain understanding by reading them. Editorial cartoons show the artist's opinion in picture form. Understanding the humor, irony, or pathos in an editorial cartoon is a reward for readers who are informed about current issues. Finally, the "letters to the editor" section provides the general public an opportunity to voice their concerns.
